Assam Rifles Technical and Tradesman Recruitment 2026 – Notification Out for 354 Posts

The Office of the Directorate General Assam Rifles,
Shillong has released the notification for the Assam Rifles Technical
and Tradesman Recruitment
Rally 2026 for enrolment into various Group C posts. A total of 354
vacancies are available in technical, tradesman and other specialist
categories. The online application process is scheduled to start from 28
September 2026, and eligible candidates can apply up to 28 October 2026
at 11:59 PM. The recruitment
rally is tentatively scheduled to commence from 23 November 2026 onwards.
Candidates must be Indian citizens and will be considered for vacancies
earmarked on an All-India, All-Class basis.
The recruitment includes posts such as Warrant Officer (Cipher), Rifleman, Havildar, and other technical/tradesman positions including Electrician, Lineman, Armourer, Engineer Equipment Mechanic, Recovery Vehicle Mechanic, Vehicle Mechanic, Welder, Draughtsman, Operation Theatre Technician, Physiotherapist and Mason. The selection process includes RFID-based Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), trade/written tests and medical/other stages as applicable. Assam Rifles Recruitment 2026 Qualification
Educational qualifications vary according to the post/trade.
Major requirements include:
- Warrant
Officer (Cipher): Qualification as prescribed for the Cipher trade.
- Technical
Trades: Generally require 10th/Matriculation plus ITI/technical
training or relevant Diploma, depending on the trade.
- Recovery
Vehicle Mechanic: 10+2/Matriculation with relevant ITI qualification
or applicable Heavy Motor Vehicle/Transport Vehicle driving licence as
prescribed.
- Draughtsman:
10+2/equivalent with two-year Diploma in Architectural Assistantship
from a recognized Polytechnic/Institution.
- Operation
Theatre Technician: 10+2 with prescribed Diploma in Operation
Theatre Technology and relevant experience.
- Physiotherapist:
10+2 with prescribed Diploma in Physiotherapy and relevant
experience.
- Mason:
Matriculation with the prescribed trade-test/work-experience requirement.
- Welder/Mechanic/Electrician/Instrument
Mechanic and other trades: Matriculation with relevant ITI/technical
qualification or Diploma as specified for the particular trade.

Assam Rifles Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
For most Rifleman/technical trades, the prescribed age is
generally 18 to 23 years. The age limit for certain posts such as Draughtsman,
Operation Theatre Technician and Physiotherapist is 18 to 25 years. The
notification also provides applicable age relaxation for departmental
candidates, Government servants and reserved categories according to Central
Government rules.
